Born and raised in Albania's capital, Tirana, Arta came to the US in 1993 on a Fulbright scholarship to study anthropology at the University of Texas at Austin. A few years later, while living in New Mexico, she came in contact with a talented group of watercolorists who inspired her to get back in touch with her passion for drawing and painting. Realizing how much she loves painting people, Arta is now continuously exploring the beauty of face and form, mood and movement.

Since her move to Colorado in 2004, she has continued to strengthen her visualizing and painting skills at the Art Students League of Denver as well as through numerous workshops, studying with exceptional artists like Quang Ho, Tony Ryder, Joseph Ireland, Doug Dawson, Margaretta Gilboy, Ron Hicks, Ed Kucera, Michael Grimaldi, Kevin Weckbach, Joshua Fallik, and many others. Arta states: "I am striving to follow in the realistic painting tradition of Repin, Serov, Sorolla, Zorn, Eakins, Sargent and many others I cherish and many admire."
